The Hotel itself is ...

The Hotel itself is great. It's common spaces are beautiful, the grounds are lovely, the location is perfect, and the staff was great. The spa was a welcome addition. My gripe was with the room and some of the amenities. I paid an exorbitant amount for a two night stay in a junior suite. Which is basically the equivalent of an oversize room with a wet bar and a jacuzzi tub. You could tell that these rooms were upgraded in the past to achieve a higher level of clientele. I have a feeling this was some time ago as a lot of things required maintenance. The layout of my room seemed to be poorly laid out and was an incredible waste of space. I have a feeling this is as a result of trying to cram a program into an existing hotel. The finishes were dated, and the toilet rocked. There's no housekeeping unless it is specifically requested, they clean once you leave. My biggest gripe is the wifi. At $700 a night I'd expect the wifi to work. Once the evening hit it was impossible to connect. I suspect it was do to traffic on the system. That's a fairly easy upgrade, that should be a no brainer for a high end hotel. As a professional I also had issue with the stair door at the first floor level near the dining room. The door was missing hardware. This is a code violation. Stair doors, according to the building code, are required to close and latch to protect the occupants in the shaft in the event of a fire emergency. The door could not latch, because it had no hardware. The lack of attention to routine maintenance was kind of a bummer, I'd expect more for what it costs. I'd go back to Rehoboth, I don't think I'd pay the amount of money I paid to stay at the Bellmoor again. Maybe if it were at a severely reduced rate. I feel like we could have done better for what it costs, but I could be wrong.

Stayed here for 5 nights and we really enjoyed it. The main thing that hooked me was the adults only section with its own pool. Wish more hotels did this. Location is quite good, with a less than 10 minute walk to the boardwalk and beach. Didn't take advantage of the spa stuff, so can't speak to it. On-site parking was great.

Excellent, friendly staff. Not too far from the beach if you are up to walking. Would highly recommend The Bellmoor in Rehoboth. Looking forward to returning next year if possible. Special thanks to Jeff D. Paul S. Heimers

For the rates charged, ...

For the rates charged, this is not a top notch experience. My wife and I stayed 4 nights over the 4th of July weekend and with taxes it came to about $500 per night. There are 2 pools; 1 pool is small and was always crowded with children, and the adult pool is very tiny...3 feet deep and basically can only be used to stand in. There are no options for poolside drinks. There is no happy hour or afternoon snacks. We bought a couple of drinks at the bar and asked if we could also purchase snacks. We were advised to find the vending machines to purchase snacks. I would expect this at a Holiday Inn; not at an Inn charging $500 per night. With no poolside drinks or afternoon snacks there is no mingling between guests as there is no reason to stay at the Inn during the day. The breakfast was adequate. Nothing special or interesting, but certainly adequate. The omelette guy works hard to please. Front staff are pleasant. Location is walking distance to beach..although longer than the 2 blocks advertised. We wrote this review and sent it to the Bellmoor before posting this on TripAdvisor. They told us they would be calling us to discuss but they never did. They also promised to email us a receipt but we had to call to get a receipt. When we received the receipt we noticed they charged us double to park our car. At $12 a night to park the car, the $48 it was supposed to be (which seems already high) became $96. They did credit the amount bak to us when we pointed out their mistake.
